พระที่นั่งจักรีมหาปราสาท ในพระบรมมหาราชวัง เป็นสถานที่สำหรับใช้ในการพระราชทานเลี้ยงต้อนรับพระราชอาคันตุกะ สำหรับนักท่องเที่ยว สามารถถ่ายภาพและชมความงามของสถาปัตยกรรมภายนอกได้ทุกวัน เวลา 9:00 - 16:00 น.

พระตำหนักจุฮัมนู (Juhamnu) ในพระราชวังชางด๊อกกุง (Changdeokgung Palace) เป็นห้องสมุดของกษัตริย์ มี 2 ชั้น ชั้นล่างใช้เป็นที่เก็บหนังสือ ชั้นสองใช้เป็นห้องอ่านหนังสือ บรรยกาศโดยรอบในพระราชวังชางด๊อกกุงได้รับการออกแบบและตกแต่งเป็นอย่างดี มีการแบ่งส่วนบริหาร ส่วนพักอาศัย และอุทยานพักผ่อนอย่างลงตัวกลมกลืน จึงเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางยอดนิยมของนักท่องเที่ยว และได้ขึ้นบัญชีมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมของโลกโดยองค์การยูเนสโก เมื่อปี 2540

พระองค์ทรงมีพระปรีชาสามารถในหลาย ๆ ด้าน และทรงประกอบพระราชกรณียกิจในด้านต่าง ๆ เช่น ด้านการกีฬา การพัฒนาสังคม โดยทรงมีโครงการในพระราชดำริส่วนพระองค์หลายหลากโครงการ นอกจากนี้ พระองค์ท่านสนพระทัยในเรื่องราวแสตมป์ และได้รับการยกย่องว่าเป็น เจ้าฟ้านักสะสม ซึ่งในโอกาสครบรอบ 125 ปี ไปรษณีย์ไทย บริษัท ไปรษณีย์ไทย จำกัด ได้กราบบังคมทูลขอพระราชทานภาพฝีพระหัตถ์เพื่อนำมาจัดสร้างเป็นแสตมป์ชุดพิเศษ

"Somdetch Phra Thepratanarajsuda Chao Fa Maha Chakri Siridhorn Rathasimakunakorn Piyachat Siamboromrajakumari," the official name of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirndhorn, is inscribed in a gold leaf after her investiture with the royal status of the "Siamboromrajakumari" or the Crown Princess of the Chakri Dynasty, the first time in Thai history.

H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is well versed in many fields of interest and she has dedicated hersself to various kinds of work; for example education and social development. She has initiated many development projects. She is also interested in collecting postage stamps and that has earned her the title, the Stamp-Collecting Princess. In occation of 125th Anniversary, Thailand Post Company Limited was given the highest honor to use Her Royal Highness's paintings in our special stamp collection.

แสตมป์ ภาพดอกตานตะวัน

ดอกทานตะวัน หรือเรียกชื่อทางพฤกษศาสตร์ว่า Helianthus annuus Linn. เป็นไม้ล้มลุก ลำต้นเดี่ยวสูงเกิน 2 เมตร ใบใหญ่รูปไข่ขอบเป็นจัก ดอกกลมใหญ่ สีเหลือง มองเห็นเด่นชัด มีเมล็ดอยู่กลางดอกใช้ทำน้ำมันได้ ดอกจะหันหน้าสู่แสงแดดตลอดเวลา จึงได้ชื่อว่า ทานตะวัน มีทั้งพันธุ์ดอกซ้อนและดอกไม่ซ้อน ผู้ที่ชื่นชอบในความสวยงามสามารถเยื่ยมชมดอกทานตะวันที่เบ่งบานแข่งกันรัศมีดวงอาทิตย์ได้ตลอดสองข้างทางรถไฟที่มุ่งหน้าไปยังเขื่อนป่าสักชลสิทธิ์

Braving The Sun

Sunflowers or Helianhus annuus Linn are herbaceous plants, with single stems and are not more than two meters in height. Their oval leaves are zigzagged at th rim. The yellow flowers are round with seeds in the middle. The seeds can yield oil. The flower turn to face the sun all the time, thus explaining the name "sunflowers". The patals can come in single in multi layers. Those who want to see sunflowers, dancing in the sun can take a train to Pasak Cholasith Dam when both sides of the tracks feature hundreds of the sunflowers.

Stamp Name: National Communications Day 2008 Commemorative Stamp

In the past when technology is still underdeveloped, sending letters are the means of how people comunicate with one another. But, for a faster service, "telegram" allows people to send and receive telegraphic information within the country and aboard.

Sending telegraphic messages relies on the decoding of the message from both the sending and the receiving ends. There are two types of code, click and hold (long hold) and click and release (short hold), which are replaced by the " . " and " - " (dot and dash). This is called the "Morse Code" which uses the advantage of the open-close electromagnetic system where electricity flow trough the coil wire which then pulled on a piece of metal when electricity was passed trough it. This pulling action causes both the short or the long sound.

The first experience of Thailand and telegram started in 1875 when King RAMA 5th instructed the Directorate of Joint Logistics to construct the first telegraphic line from Bangkok to Pak Nam. The telegraph service was opened for public use ever since. However, with the development of technology in communication in modern day, telegraphic service begins to play less of an important role in people's everyday lives. On May 1st 2008, the lesser used telegraphic message service has become merely a history of Thailand.

ตะแลปแก๊บ ... โทรเลขจ๋า
ในสมัยที่เทคโนโลยียังไม่ฉับไวเท่าทุกวันนี้ การติดต่อสื่อสารผ่านจดหมาย จึงเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ และหากต้องการให้ผู้รับทราบอย่างเร่งด่วนก็จะเลือกใช้บริการ โทรเลข ซึ่งสามารถรับ ส่งได้ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ

การส่งโทรเลขต้องอาศัยการแปลรหัสทั้งในการส่งและการรับ โดยกำหนดรหัสไว้ ๒ ลักษณะคือ เคาะแล้วกดไว้ (กดยาว) กับเคาะแล้วปล่อย (กดสั้น) ซึ่งแทนด้วย - กับ . (ขีด กับ จุด) เรียกว่า รหัสมอร์ส ซึ่งอาศัยการทำงานของวงจรไฟฟ้าเปิด-ปิด ไหลเข้าไปในขดลวดเกิดสนามแม่เหล็กและดูดแผ่นเหล็กมากระทบแกนเหล็ก ทำให้เกิดเสียงยาวเสียงสั้น

สำหรับประเทศไทยรู้จักใช้โทรเลขตั้งแต่ปี ๒๔๑๘ เมื่อพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๕ ทรงให้กรมกลาโหมดำเนินการสร้างทางสายโทรเลขสายแรก จากกรุงเทพมหานครไปปากน้ำ และเปิดให้บริการประชาชนนับตั้งแต่นั้นเรื่อยมา จนเมื่อเทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารได้พัฒนาก้าวไกล บริการโทรเลขภาคประชาชนนี้ จึงลดบทบาทลง และได้ปิดบริการไปตั้งแต่วันที่ ๑ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๕๑ เป็นต้นมา

The Thai postal service was lunched on King Chulalongkorn's initiative with the aim of modernizing the country and facilitating trade in Thailand and with the civilized nations.

The service started on August 4th, 1883 and so 2008 is the 152th anniversary of "Thailand Post". For mre than a century, the Thai Postal service has undergone changes and has had to adjust itself and improve is work so that it is able to enjoy growth and expand all over the country. Its network is linked to postal services around the world.

กิจการไปรษณีย์ไทยถือกำเนิดขึ้นจากพระราชดำริของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 5 ที่ทรงต้องการสร้างความเจริญให้บ้านเมือง เป็นการเกื้อหนุนต่อกิจการค้าขายของประเทศไทย และให้เป็นไปตามแบบอย่างของประเทศทั้งหลายที่เจริญแล้ว

Power of Faith and Belief

Chatukham Rammathep, in believe of Brahmin Religion meant Thao Khadtukham and Thao Ramatape. When these got influenced from the Buddhist religious, these changed their statuses to Dava for protection the Load of Buddha Ash. Then name's changed to Thao Chatukham.

Nakorn Srithamarat local people believed that Ong-Chatukham was the city guardian spirit occupied the city. They believed that it meant Phra Chao Chandharapanu who was a brave warrior King. HRH had dark body and had 4 brave soldiers. When HRH strongly accessed the throne of the Sriwichai Kingdom. HRH was called "Black King of Southern Sea". HRH had made merit and prayed to be Bodhisattva in order to release sufferings of all people. Later it's combined to be one Chatukham Rammathep. The image of Chatukham Rammathep is presented in sitting position, has 4 arms which holding all weapons. The 4 soldiers are presented in Hanuman (white monkey) with 4 arms holding the weapons according to Sriwichai Art.

Present, Chatukham Rammathep is high received respects all over the believing that it's supernatural power in all fields to be comparable to Sun and Moon for getting rid of the darkness of the earth. The first incantation of respoect image of Chatukham Rammathep in year 1987 was made potent by magin incantation of Phra Phong Suriyan-Chandra type, with eyes of the demon that caused eclipses, surrounded by 8 demons that caused eclipses. In the middle of the amulet had one sitting figure Deva with 2 heads and 4 arms holding weapons. This meant the reproduction of Bodhisattva which represented Chatukham Rammathep, King of Sriwichai.

Queen of Flower

The origin of rose was in southern areas since more than thousand years ago. The oldest evidence was found in 2845-2768 before Christ. In Thailand, rose has brought for planning all over since King Rama IV, after His Majesty was returned from European trips. His Majesty would bring all the rose species to plant every time.

The beautiful and smell of rose has preserved in all the persons with all ages since today. Rose also uses as symbol for the beauty and love as really called "Queen of Flower".

Happy Chinese New Year 2008 Thai Postage Stamp

The Chinese New Year has the highlighted celebration 3 days to performs with a religious ceremony given in honor of Heaven and Earth, the gods of the household and the family ancestors, the sacrifice to the ancestors, the most vital of tall the rituals, united the living members with those who has passed away, and the presence of the ancestors, is acknowledged on New Year's Eve. Each shrine will have a lion dance troupe as a symbolic ritual to usher in the Lunar New Year as well as to evict bad spirits from the premises.

During the Chinese New Year, the Chinese will greet each other with Sin Jiun Yu Yi Sin Ni Huad Jai (Chao Zhou Dialect) or Sin Jen Ru Yi Sin Nian Fa Chai (Mandarin) that means good luck, wealthy for the new year. The others will reply with Tang Tang Yu Ee which means good luck to you too.

Another symbol of this tradition is also "red envelop" or Tae Ear which all the children will be received as gift from adult. Tae Ear means binding on waist. During the ancient time, the meney had hole in the middle, when received they had to bind together with the red thread and to bind on waist. After that there was no hole on the money, and then it chanced to use the red envelope instead and called "Any Pao".

Story of the National Children's Day 2008 Commemorative Thai Stamps

To Preserve Fine Art and Thai Tradition

The Postage Stamp of Children's Day of Year 2008 for 5 selections which are awarded in the 20th Asian International Stamp Exhibition (BANGKOK 2007) Postage Stamp Painting Competition. Fine Art Filling for Thailand Project by Mr.Chalermchai Kosipipat, the first visual arts honoree for the inaugural Silpathorn Award, and Mr.Apichai Piromrak, a Sculpture and lothography artist, Silpakorn University to be honorable commitee for this competition.

Walk on high stilts or Kok-kek is a toy in suburb, Kok-kek is made of 2 stilts. The player has to balance his stand on a cock's spur of each stilt, to use hands to hold each stilt, and ready for step by step for left and right. This has use the walking and running for the competition.

Kiting flying - Thai person know how to flying kite since an old time. Kiting flying is th egame which needs the competent, astuteness in order to compete the wind flowing or so called "dtit lom bon" (to be floated on the upper wind). This game is for entertainment and also for competition.

A Puppet show (or Hun Krabok) is one of the fine art shows which have people to raise the made puppet. The head till neck is made the sculptured wood in order to imitate the real person. The body of the puppet is made from bamboo and to be worn with the cylinder shirt with no sleeves that embroider with silver thread, golden thread, and sequins braided, similar to Kohn.

Candel Buddhish Lent (or Thien Phansa) has been starting since the buddisht ancient time. The buddist will bring the big and loger candle to provide to the Buddhist priest for lighting the Buddhist Lent period. At the beginning by bringing a lot of small candles and binding together to be the stem and attached on the base. Later it developoed to mold all the small candles to be one and had the beautifyl sculpture on it.

The mysterious principle (or Kwan Khao). Thai people believe that in the rice plant has the soul called "mae Phosop" or Mae Kwan Khao. So they have the rite in order to please Mae Phosop and also to convey the gratefulness to rice. This will have 4 times rite: the plowing and the rice planning time, setting up an ear of paddy time, harvest and rice carrying time, and carrying to barn.

Year of Mouse is the first 12-year cycle of animals referred to as the Chinese zodiac. According to the legend believed that rat was the first animal which watched the body of Load Buddha by catching on ox's back. However rat jumped down so that he could reach before the ox.

Due to the size, rat is very deft to escape the risk and also very clever to adapt itself to all environments. Rat also has very quickly of hearing, it could alert others for, also could persuade friends to seek for food. The major of its organ are teeth which are very strong and sharp.

The person who born in year of rat, the legend tells that this will have absolute speech, arrogant talking, going in any direction will receive welcome, could not work in details. However, this person is very persistent but irresolute. Rat person has enough knowledge for living and also loves to travel around.
